Objectives of Logistics and Supply Chain management Program

The program is designed to produce highly competent, qualified graduates who possess the required managerial and technical know-how to successfully manage the supply chain that links the acquisition of resources, transformation and delivering of value created to end users. Hence, the MA degree in Logistic and Supply Chain Management is designed to address the human resource need of public and private in Ethiopia.

More specifically, the program intends:-

• To produce competent middle and Top level Logistics and Supply Chain Managers (having required knowledge, skills, strong ethical values and attitude) to address the prevailing impediments of the sector.
• To provide training and research as sources of innovation and a critical means of providing safe, cost effective, and environmental-friendly logistics and supply chain system; and
• To equip students with an in-depth understanding in the spheres of Logistics and Supply Chain Management to further develop their knowledge, skills and abilities in the various aspects of the management methodologies relevant to the analysis of the area.
• To contribute vital role for the development of the emerging profession in logistics and Supply Chain Management in Ethiopia.
• Upgrading the role of graduate to be engaged more in strategic and tactical supply chain decisions.
• Meeting organizations’ professionals need who specialized in major functions along the materials flow.
• Supporting organizations’ endeavor to become internationally competitive
• Enable students acquire necessary communication and analytical skills, culture of inquisitiveness, critical thinking, innovation and creativity that enhance their capabilities to benefits from their specialized training
• To enable students conversant with Information Technology (IT) and able to apply the technology
• To produce qualified and competent supply chain/value chain/experts who help organizations design their supply chain
