Educational Objectives and Competency Profile

After the completion of this postgraduate program of the Economics (Development Economics) graduates (students) will be expected to:

  • Apply their knowledge and skills as effective, productive economists within regional and federal agencies, municipalities.
  • Develop, quantify, and apply theoretical and practical models for developmental issues.
  • Develop long-term strategies, operational targets, and concrete plans for sustainable economic development.
  • Consulting firms and NGOs about planning, analysis, preparation, monitoring, and evaluation of projects.
  • Work and communicate effectively with others on multi-disciplinary issues to develop practical, technically-sound, reliable, and cost-effective mechanisms to solve complex and diverse development problems.
  • Maintain an active program of life-long learning and continuing education while practicing their knowledge ethically and professionally.
  • Seek leadership roles as practitioners and become active members within professional and technical societies.
